Hello fellow Martians!

Graduating from Steam Early Access, we’re proud to finally announce the official release of Take On Mars. The special milestone is celebrated with a launch trailer, highlighting the many ‘benefits’ of playing Take On Mars over alternative options of space exploration.

Starting out as mod for Carrier Command: Gaea Mission, Take On Mars began life as a passion project by our Project Lead Martin Melichárek, who was already working at Bohemia Interactive at the time. After deciding to make it into a full game, Take On Mars launched on Steam Early Access soon after in 2013. The initial focus of the game was on Mars rovers and landers. However, over the course of development, the scope of the project increased significantly to also include a manned mission part, and thus capturing the exploration of Mars in its entirety.

We´re happy to announce Automobilista is being officially released as v1.0 this wednesday August 24th!

The official release will bring a new series (F-Vintage 1967 & 1969), new track layouts, along with an extensive list of fixes and updates to the current Early Access version.

This is it. It’s all led to this point. It’s time for version 1.0!

Yes, as of today, DiRT Rally is officially leaving Early Access and launching on Steam. It’s been a hell of a ride and we’re so glad you’ve been able to join us along the road to launch. Between you, you’ve clocked up over 98 million kilometres so far!

Today’s Steam launch brings with it the Winter Wonderland update, which delivers a new rally set in the snow and ice of the Varmland region of Sweden to the game. These snow-filled stages are known for their snow banks and we’ve been hard at work on new soft edge tech that simulates the density of snow. As a result, you can now lean on the snow banks when pushing for those stage records.

The update also brings two new cars to the game, the Hyundai Rally and the Volkswagen Polo Rally. These cars are the most recent additions to the pinnacle of the sport and they are the perfect way to round off our Early Access programme.

The Winter Wonderland update also sees the introduction of Steam Workshop support that allows players to share Car Setup & Force Feedback settings. You can find a guide for this here: (

We’ve also made improvements and refinements made to Global Leaderboards and League support.

Here’s the rundown of other stuff that’s new this month:

  • You can now tune your immersion levels by customising your OSD options, choosing between On, Countdowns Only and Off.
  • The Logitech G29 wheel is now correctly listed in the controller preset menu.
  • Custom Championships now reward you with the correct number of credits.
  • There’s a new EULA to sign when you boot the game, which asks you to kindly behave yourself when you’re playing with others.
  • Your favourite pet mouse has learnt a new trick, and can now change the livery on your car.
  • If you own an Owner’s Club event, you will now correctly own the Owned achievement.
  • If you pledge a wedge to an online Wager Event and the event ends while you’re on stage, we’ll give you your CR back.
  • Your Oculus Rift can now be toggled to lock the horizontal orientation. Look for a flag in the hardware configuration file.
  • Sliders on the Advanced Racing Wheel Options screen now increment at the same rate as the Steering and Pedal calibration screen.
  • Your Service Crews are back from their training course and will now correctly setup your car for multi-location events.
  • Stopped one set of Rallycross results from appearing on a Rally leaderboard.
  • You no longer need to hold the headlight control to activate your lights. You can now just tap that.
  • Windows accounts with accented and non-latin characters will now correctly save game settings.
  • Fixed a weird bug where the camera would briefly flick back to the default position at the start of a stage after customising the seat position.
  • @Kick_Up will now politely and calmly inform you if your wheels fall off, and if you’re going the wrong way.

rFactor 2 is a realistic, easily extendable racing simulation from Image Space Incorporated. It offers the latest in vehicle and race customization, great graphics, outstanding multiplayer and the height of racing realism. rFactor 2 features mixed class road racing with ultra realistic dynamics, an immersive sound environment and stunning graphics.

X10 Berlin – The express bus between City West and Brandenburg is the first add-on for “OMSI 2” created by the developers of Halycon. The modern Berlin out of the perspective of a bus driver is a captivating experience. It`s a challenge to take on the daily schedule without accidents.

The routing offers a huge variety. Starting in Berlin’s city centre, the player will experience the busy bus traffic at “Bahnhof Zoo” and the sights of Tauentzienstraße. Drive your way through the traffic of the shopping streets before taking the route through the extensive residential area along the Grunewald forest. Pass the middle-class Zehlendorf up to the city boundary which has marked an impassable obstacle until 1989. After one or two jams, you will reach Teltow, a suburb of Berlin with a long history.

The transport services of Berlin used to call the line X10 “Der Zehlendorfer Großstadt-Express” (The Zehlendorf Metropolitan Express), and yet it is only one of many lines you can drive in the large network of streets in this add-on!

Included is the MAN double-decker bus, adding even more realism and enhancing the fleet of OMSI with a modern vehicle. This particular bus characterises the cityscape of Berlin.

Assetto Corsa version 1.3 introduces some great improvements to the core game engine and new features to the physics engine.

The game now supports native 64-bit code. The physics engine has been reworked and is now completely multithreaded. As a result, the driving precision is augmented, the accuracy has further improved and the physics solver has enough horsepower to completely resolve any difficult calculations at any speed, achieving butter-smooth Force Feedback and a complete elimination of signal noise and vibrations.

Assetto Corsa’s top-class physics engine has been constantly evolving and improving. The AC physics code already includes various industry-first features, such as advanced active aerodynamics, four-wheel drive simulation with active differentials, realistic driving assists systems, unique hybrid engines simulation and advanced tyre-wear features, such as blistering, graining and flat spots.

With version 1.3 we now present you a completely reworked tyre model that includes new features in connection with tyre-speed sensitivity, combined grip, slip angles and ratios, load sensitivity, rolling resistance and most importantly, separated heating for surface and core temperatures. As a result, driving in Assetto Corsa is now more realistic than ever. The driving experience is more natural while at the same time also more challenging at the limit. Real-life features such as driving carefully in the first two laps to heat the tyres or taking it easy to cool down overheated tyres after a spin, the handling of the car changing from turn to turn depending on your driving style or as a result of driver errors and choosing the correct tyre compound depending on the track and car combination and also your driving style will now become part of your daily driving experience in Assetto Corsa.

We did not stop at the tyres though. We have improved the ABS system and now depending on the car, Assetto Corsa supports different generations of ABS systems using 1 to 4 channels. We have enabled active differentials also for RWD cars, such as the brand new BMW M4, which is part of the Dream Pack 2 DLC. We also have improved the height sensitivity of front splitters and diffusers making their influence more complex from a setup engineering point of view and more demanding from the aspect of the driver, creating an overall more satisfactory experience for everyone.

Do not just drive by memory some binary data values that resemble cars on your screen. Drive cars that are “alive”, constantly changing their behaviour from turn to turn as a response to your personal driving style.

The ‘Stock Car Build’ has finally arrived! This build introduces a number of supportive code elements for this type of racing, but is also a testbed for some future advancements we have coming for this, and racing of all kinds.

We plan to release some more tracks (eagle-eyed forum users already spotted this), and with the help of some leagues, we hope to get the rules nailed down.

Known issues (A.I.):

We need to give the A.I. another look, as improvements in one area can often affect another. The A.I. are quite dynamic and will adjust their line according to grip levels. At Jacksonville, this tends to see them running high up against the wall. With an upcoming update to the core, we would like to try to keep them from scraping the wall as often as they do right now on the ovals. You can disable the ‘dynamic superspeedway’ code that causes this by changing playerfile value “AI Logic Override” to 2 (as mentioned in the notes below).

In order to take full advantage of the stock car features, it is recommended that users do the following:
1) Enable the StockCarRules.dll and KnockoutQualifying.dll plugins. In single-player, this can be done in the UI Settings. For dedicated servers, operators will have to open the CustomPluginVariables.JSON file (in the UserData\player directory) and set ” Enabled” to 1 for both of these plugins.
2) Download and install the “National Stock Car Racing 2015” mod. This contains many rules settings geared towards stock car racing.

There exists a new multiplayer.json variable “Plugin Heartbeat Rate” which can be turned off or set to different update rates. In addition, the plugin will be signaled that this is a heartbeat update by setting ScoringInfoV01::mGamePhase to a new value of 9 meaning “paused”.
