Following on from the TS 2016 announcement we wanted to provide some more information to the feedback you’ve given us so far.

What do we mean by ‘Extreme’?

Over Easter, we set you a series of extreme challenges (Stage One, Stage Two & Stage Three) to give you an idea of the type of challenges we’re creating for TS 2016 – To be absolutely clear, these aren’t the actual challenges that will appear in TS 2016, they were meant as examples of the types of challenges we mean.  These challenges will be set in a variety of extreme conditions such as adverse weather, complex timetables and operations. They are designed to test the skills and experience of every player, whatever your skill-level.  For clarity, it will be called Train Simulator 2016, or TS 2016, we just added ‘Extreme’ to the logo initially to emphasise the theme.

What do we mean by exclusive content?

There will be some content in TS 2016 that will be available for the first time in TS 2016 and the only way that it will be available to you is when you buy TS 2016.

What is included in TS 2016?

Over the next few weeks and months we’ll provide detailed information on the locos, routes, features and modes that will be included in TS 2016.  Look out for the latest updates here on Engine Driver, we’ll also use #beattheextreme for updates and drop some hints on the content – ED: The first hint is part of the logo artwork above! Can you guess what it is? More on this soon!

What is happening with Unreal Engine 4?

We’re hard at work creating the next generation of Train Simulator built on the phenomenal Unreal Engine 4 platform, we’ll only release it when it is ready. As soon as we have more details to share, we’ll talk about them here first.

What will happen to the current Train Simulator / my collection when the Unreal Engine 4 version comes out?

Whatever we do with the Unreal Engine 4 version, the current version will continue to exist and it will have no effect on your existing collection whatsoever. For the foreseeable future, we will continue to develop more great content for you to enjoy in the existing Train Simulator.

We’ll have more details for you soon!
